Before getting any further with today’s article I think its more than appropriate that I also voice out my condolences to both the Mandela family and South Africa as a whole. Without doubt this is the darkest time South Africa has ever suffered.
I saw its only fitting to dedicate today’s article to one of the best men who have ever walked upon this earth. Before you give me that frown asking me how is it possible to speak of the father of the nation in a fashion column.

I will remind you that our Icon of humanity and kindness did not only focus on teaching the human race how to be more kind and tolerant. He also had a fashion sense of an Icon. Pictures of a young Nelson Mandela always show us a well put together lad with determination written all over his eyes.
Double breasted coats and fitted pants seem to have been his ensemble to success. Even today we still find these extremely dapper suits and they still seem to be a perfect recipe for power dressing. Well that was back in his young age. Fast forward to a democratic era. Father of the nation, Tata Mandela introduced us to his fashion statement making shirts. I mean who could forget the super bold prints that he wore.
From tribal prints to all forms of abstract prints Madiba did not only show us that he had style but that he was actually consistent with his style. To put all this in a nutshell these are just some of the things we’ll miss about our Tata. His smile proved that style is futile without a warm attitude and benevolence. His day might be done but his style is still as hot as ever. I hope he rests on the best linen of heaven.
