SA pastor defends T.B Joshua's church

Nigerian televangelist, T.B Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations has since been criticized for its lack of  transparency Nigerian televangelist, T.B Joshua's Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), has defended itself, through one of its South African pastors, against criticism about the building that collapsed two weeks ago.

South African families of the victims are still waiting for the repatriation of the bodies.

Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe, is expected to give an update on Sunday afternoon, with the latest on the tragedy and when the first bodies are expected to arrive in South Africa.

Pastor Tim Tebeila from SCOAN in South Africa says the church has been very involved in the rescue operation from the beginning.

“The church has in fact appointed or call close to five multi-national companies to come and assist with the rescue. They acted immediately when this incident happened. All the five contractors who assisted in the rescue missions were all from the church,” says Tebeila.
The church has since been criticised for its lack of involvement in the rescue efforts
At least 115 people, including 84 South Africans died when the multi-story church hostel, which is part of the T.B Joshua SCOAN's, collapsed earlier this month.

The church has since been criticised for its lack of involvement in the rescue efforts, but Tebeila says the church has been very involved since the beginning.

“We’ve given them money, we've given them food, and we’ve given them groceries. And some we even go to an extent of even paying their monthly rental,” adds Tebeila.
